Where they worship-Synagogue - Their holy day begins at sundown
Friday night to sundown Saturday night.
Where did Judaism begin- It was the religion of a small nation of Hebrews.
Where is it practiced today- In the state of Israel, small parts of the United states and Europe
Main beliefs- They believe there is only one god
They do not believe Jesus is the son of God
They are still waiting for their God to appear
They do not use the new testament
Does this religion have a God- Yes they have a god they believe he is all powerful, omnipotent and that he created the universe.He has no physical form And is in all places at all time. There God is the beginning and the end.
Their sacred writings-They use the Torah which tells them how to treat other people, how to act themselves, what they are responsible for in their life.
Religious practices-They worship in a Synagogues. Many services are said completely in Jewish
How do they practice their religion- They live every day by trying to live the way the Torah tells them to. Many times they have a special bank in their house that they put change into and when it is full they give it to a person or family that needs it. Then they start all over again.
Religious festivals-Hanukkah- festival of lights
Rosh Hashanah- Jewish New Year
Yom Kippur- Day of Atonement
Passover-Celebrate their freedom
Jewish main symbols- Menorah- eight candle candlestick
Yarmulka- Skull cap
Tefillin- Held at forehead and left arm during the morning prayer
Mezuzah- Holds 15 verses of the bible
